Apple Dumplings

Fall is my favorite time of year! I love the bright colors, but almost as much, I love the food of fall. Soups. apple and pumpkin things. Delicious! Here's one of my favorite desserts for fall. It's soo easy too! I got this recipe from my sister Allison.

Apple Dumplings
2 large Granny Smith apple, peeled and cored
2 cans of crescent rolls
1 cup of butter
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 (12 oz) can of Mountain Dew (just trust me)

Grease a 9x13 pan. Melt butter in saucepan, stir in sugar and cinnamon until dissolved. Cut apples into 8 wedges. Separate crescent dough into 8 triangles. Roll the apples in the crescent dough starting at the small end. Pinch edges to seal, place in prepared dish. Pour butter and sugar mixture over the dumplings. Pour the Mountain Dew over that. Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes. Eat warm! =) Serve with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.

The Mountain Dew will give the dumplings a nice glazed look on them, after it's baked you can't taste it at all!
