Hello all!
Last night I made a new pie crust, and since a lot of people make pies for Christmas, wanted to share it today. I've made pie crusts before, and it was a lot of work and kind of disappointing. This dough is so easy to handle and make. I really couldn't believe it!
This will make 4 single crust pies. I froze the others and that worked well.
4 cups flour
1 TBS sugar
1 TBS salt
1 3/4 cups shortening or butter (I ran out of shortening, so I did about half of each)
1 TBS vinegar
1 egg
1/2 water
Combine flour, sugar and salt. Cut in the shortening. Combine the vinegar, egg, and water in a separate bowl. Combine with the flour mixture until just moistening. Divide into 4 equal sized balls.
When rolling out the pie crust, it should be a little bigger then your pie plate.

You can make me a cherry pie for Christmas. I know that's selfish, but it looks so good and you said you had some already frozen. lol
